so, i originally wrote that last one in january. we just returned from our surprise trip and it was awesome. my dad was absolutely shocked and even shed a few tears when we came walking up to greet him. i am so glad we went and the only thing i would have changed was to have chad come with me. darn spendy flights!
i am still wishing we lived closer. being far from family is so hard. on the way back last week, i was wondering why we even live out here. when i returned home (here) i remembered how much i love living in oregon...but it makes me wonder...what is more important??? obviously our jobs are here. but still makes me ponder...

so often i feel the same way. wishing i lived on the east coast to be near my family. i know how hard it is to love the mountains and the west, but to wonder what i should do. it's hard. :(
ReplyDeletebtw, now that madelyn is coming to seattle i will have a partner-in-crime to drive to portland with. we are sooo coming to meet grayson and harass you! oh, i have to meet chad, too. still can't believe that hasn't happened!
kimberly, i'm glad you feel like i do sometimes... it's hard to think about giving up the beauty of this part of the country but REALLY? when you say it out loud (or write it) it seems silly. family first.(but the whole job thing is kind of important too!)
ReplyDeletei am SO excited for you and madelyn to come "harass" us :) it is crazy that you haven't met chad, or more crazy that we still have not crossed paths since you have lived up there. where does the time go?!? i am excited to come visit seattle more too, now that G is getting older and actually liking being in the car (FINALLY!). xox!
